Connect displays information about your contacts and companies within your professional network, including, but not limited to the number of contacts you have in common, social handles, titles, company size, funding and other relevant information (“Connect Information”) through the Services. Connect obtains data for this Connect Information in three ways: (i) our technology locates and aggregates publicly-available information in a useful way; (ii) we license data from third parties; (iii) individuals contribute data about contacts and companies stored in their Outlook accounts by using the Services.
We may collect the following types of information (including Personal Data) from your emails and contacts:
If you have a Connect Premium membership, Connect will not make available any of the foregoing Personal Data from you to other users of the Services. However, Connect may still collect certain Personal Data and other information from you in connection with your use of the Services or Site (as further described below).
Personal Data You Provide Through the Site: Personal Data You Provide Through the Site: We also collect Personal Data from you when you voluntarily provide such information, such as when you contact us with inquiries, respond to one of our surveys, register for access to our Site or contact us through the Site. Personal Data we may collect through the Site includes the types listed above in “Information You Provide by Installing the Services”.
We ask that you not send us, and you not disclose, any sensitive Personal Data (e.g., social security numbers, information related to racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religion or other beliefs, health, biometrics or genetic characteristics, criminal background or trade union membership) on or through the Site or otherwise to us.
Other Data Collected Through the Site: When you interact with Connect through the Site, we also receive and store certain personally non-identifiable information. Such information, which is collected passively using various technologies, cannot presently be used to specifically identify you. Connect may store such information itself or such information may be included in databases owned and maintained by Connect affiliates, agents or service providers. Connect may use such information and pool it with other information to track, for example, the total number of visitors to our Site, the number of visitors to each page of our Site, and the domain names of our visitors' Internet service providers.
Browser or device information: Certain information is collected by most browsers, such as your Media Access Control (MAC) address, computer type (Windows or Macintosh), screen resolution, operating system name and version, language, and browser type and version. We use this information to ensure that the Services function properly.
Your IP address is automatically assigned to your computer by your Internet Service Provider. An IP address may be identified and logged automatically in our server log files whenever a user accesses the Services, along with the time of the visit and the page(s) that were visited. Collecting IP addresses is standard practice and is done automatically by many websites, applications and other services. We use IP addresses for purposes such as calculating usage levels, diagnosing server problems and administering the Services. We may also derive your approximate location from your IP address.
Aggregated Personal Data Received through the Site or Services: In an ongoing effort to better understand and serve our users, Connect often conducts research on its customer demographics, interests and behavior based on the Personal Data and other information provided to us through either the Site or Services. This research may be compiled and analyzed on an aggregate basis, and Connect may share this aggregate data with its affiliates, agents and business partners. This aggregate information does not identify you personally. Connect may also disclose aggregated user statistics in order to describe our Services to current and prospective business partners, and to other third parties for other lawful purposes.
Connect is not in the business of selling your information outside of the Services. We consider this information to be a vital part of our relationship with you. There are, however, certain circumstances in which we may share your Personal Data with certain third parties without further notice to you, as set forth below.
Connect Information: Connect may make any information (including, but not limited to Personal Data) that our users contribute through the Services for inclusion in our Connect Information, that we collect from public web sources or that we license from third parties available to users of the Services and to our strategic partners. Connect will never identify you as the source of any particular Connect Information, except in connection with Business Transfers, Related Companies, Agents, Consultants and Related Third Parties or Legal Requirements, as further described below.
Business Transfers: As we develop our business, we might sell or buy businesses or assets. In the event of a corporate sale, merger, reorganization, dissolution or similar event, Personal Data may be part of the transferred assets.
Agents, Consultants and Related Third Parties: Connect, like many businesses, sometimes hires other companies to perform certain business-related functions. Examples of such functions include mailing information, maintaining databases and processing payments. When we employ another entity to perform a function of this nature, we only provide them with the information that they need to perform their specific function.
Legal Requirements: Connect may disclose your Personal Data if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to (i) comply with a legal obligation, (ii) protect and defend the rights or property of Connect, (iii) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of the Services or the public, or (iv) protect against legal liability.
We may use and disclose information that is not Personal Data for any purpose, except where we are required to do otherwise under applicable law. In some instances, we may combine non-Personal Data with Personal Data. If we do, we will treat the combined information as Personal Data as long as it is combined.
You can visit the Site without providing any Personal Data. If you choose not to provide any Personal Data, you may not be able to use certain Services.
